FmCoCo CA’s purpose is to help artists monetize their music and develop a career. In the new internet age there is no reason an artist cannot make a living doing what he/she loves full time.

We are headed up by our CEO, Siouxsie Medley, the guitarist for headlining rock band – Dead Sara. Siouxsie is an example of a musician who, since she was a teenager, has made a career of doing nothing but the thing she loves most in life – music. Siouxsie has access to many of the same team members that helped launch Dead Sara’s career and other team members that continue to help Dead Sara grow even today. Dead Sara’s first top 40 hit, Weatherman, was NOT a major label project but rather it was produced, promoted and marketed by their own indie label, Pocket Kid Records. Siouxsie and FmCoCo CA’s mission is to:

  1. Educate artists and make them aware that artists are no longer dependent on major labels. Armed with knowledge and a little business sense, any artist who can produce professional music can have financial success in today’s internet environment.
  2. To make available quality proven team members who contributed to Dead Sara’s indie label success to other up and coming professional artist.

Of course, we can’t help everyone. And that is not to say we cannot help you because your music is “bad” or some such. We cannot help everyone because to become a “star” or a “headlining” artist or to just make a comfortable full time living in the music business takes more than just “good music”. It takes “professional” music (you must be at the level where you can produce professional music. If you are still an amateur musician, we encourage you and cheer you on to develop your skills – we have ALL been there, but our services are geared for either the professional musician who is ready to monetize his skills and career, or the older formerly successful musician who wants to update his or her monetization in today’s environment.) And it takes the right attitude – it takes:

  1. Drive and ambition.
  2. Knowledge of how the music industry works and knowledge of how to monetize your efforts so you can make a profit as a musician.
  3. Money to finance your development and promotion. And with the new “internet age” bands and artists no longer need millions to break out and can do it on a small but consistent monthly budget of as little as a few thousand dollars.
  4. Knowing the right people – not the manipulators who will take advantage of you because they happen to be part of a team that is associated with some big star who broke out (even though they had little to do with the overall breakout, other than they did their job). Lots of people in our industry will use “I know this guy,  and I know that guy” and “I am/was the manager/producer/writer/attorney for blah blah to impress you and to put a buck in their own pocket, but when it comes down to it, they DID NOT make it happen and really don’t know how to make it happen despite all the people they “know”. You see we use ONLY the professionals who actually know what they are doing, can do it all the time over and over again, care about the artists they work for and will deliver good value for their services. You can’t break out with your own indie label based on “connections” and “vague promises” It takes a team of skilled competent people to start and break out with your own indie label. We know those people.
  5. The willingness to invest your own time and money into yourself. Artists who want someone else or “a major label” to do it for them are less likely to succeed. Major labels actually promote something like 1 out of 20 bands that they sign. Signing with a major label is a “death contract” by this formula for 19 out of every 20 bands they sign. Yes, there is a time to sign with a major label, but it is NOT at the start of your career.

If you are sincere in your pursuit of your career goals as a musician, are a professional and have the right attitude, we have the team and resources that can help you.
