What is InStore Radio/Video? Cable TV Radio/Video?

InStore Radio is a cost-effective way for an artist to promote himself and to be heard nationally and internationally.

Have you even gone to a mall store, a restaurant, an office? Hear that music in the background – that’s InStore Radio. See that video in the bowling alley, or in the Department Store like Nordstrom when shopping – that’s InStore Video.

Our InStore Radio and Video platforms can currently reach over 1,000,000 retail/office establishments playing music for hundreds of millions of people in some 150+ countries. We promote music to over 25 InStore platforms and so far we have had success with every song we have selected for promotion. We get them on at least 4 or 5 platforms usually depending on the song and genre as many as 15 or 20 out of the 25. Some songs can get as many as 500,000+ plays a week.

Now the way InStore Radio works is that there are Genre Specific playlists that your music gets put on: Rock, Classical, Jazz, Pop, Dance, Oldies, Billboard Hits, etc. Stores get to chose the kind of mood they want to set for their own store by choosing either a predesigned playlist or building one of their own. The best thing though is outside of Oldies and Billboard Hits, InStore Radio places a lot of new and up and coming artists on their playlists. The next time you go into a store, listen to the music. If it is not a “hit” channel, you are going to hear a variety of music that you have never heard before. Why is that? Well think about it. If you are an employee at a restaurant do you want to hear the same list of 100 songs played over and over and over again? Day after day? No. It would drive employees crazy. InStore platforms are interested in “good” music and whether it is by a known or unknown artist is irrelevant. They need playlists with 1000s of songs on it so employees don’t go bonkers. But even if your music get played once or twice a week in 200,000 locations. That’s a lot of plays.

Yes, you can promote directly to InStore radio yourself just as you could promote directly to radio stations, but in most cases your submissions will just be ignored just as terrestrial radio will for the main part ignore your unsolicited submission. Because of our promoter’s connections we are able to enjoy a much higher success rate with InStore radio/video than you can. As mentioned above so far have never failed to get a song that we have approved for promotion on at least 4 or 5 platforms.

Cable TV – Radio and Video

Hear the music on the cable TV music channel? See that video on the cable TV channel? Just like InStore Radio, we have promoters who will promote to Cable TV stations as well as Cable TV Networks, MTV, and get your music and/or video onto a cable TV Platform. Again we are able to enjoy a much higher success rate than if you were to try doing it yourself.

How do I get paid for my plays?

Most payments will come through your PRO, so make sure you are signed up with SESAC, ASCAP or BMI? Also sign up with an international service like Songtrust to make sure you collect royalties outside of the US. In some cases you may get some payments from SoundExchange, Music Reports, your Label or in some instances from us.
